Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic AI Systems

About the role

This role focuses on advancing natural language understanding and agentic AI capabilities within the Moveworks platform. You will build and deploy sophisticated models to improve conversational AI performance, reliability, and user interaction quality.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain compound AI systems, including agent cognitive architectures and multimodal agents.
• Manage conversational memory, reasoning strategies like Tree of Thoughts or Graph of Thoughts, and tool-use fine-tuning.
• Implement preference alignment techniques such as RLHF, RLAIF, and DPO.
• Create production-ready solutions for abstractive summarization, text classification, and grounding.
• Scale infrastructure for model training, evaluation, and active learning.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, including red-teaming for safety, data privacy, and security.
• Collaborate with annotation teams to curate high-quality, inclusive datasets.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and Golang within a Mac development environment.
• Experience with deep learning architectures, algorithms, and large language models.
• Ability to write production-grade, unit-tested code.
• Strong understanding of model evaluation for text generation and classification.
• Capability to solve complex engineering problems from conception to production.
• High attention to detail regarding data quality and model performance.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment within a larger organization.
• Interest in cross-disciplinary engineering and staying current with academic ML research.

Practical notes

• Base pay: 139,700-216,500 USD.
• Compensation includes equity, variable/incentive pay, health plans, 401(k) with match, ESPP, and flexible time away.
