Senior Software Engineer, Developer Infrastructure

About the role

Sentry helps developers resolve application issues quickly. The Developer Infrastructure team builds and maintains the core systems that empower Sentry engineers to create high-quality software efficiently. This role focuses on enhancing the tools and processes that support the entire software development lifecycle within Sentry.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain tools for local and cloud-based developer environments.
• Improve the speed and reliability of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
• Establish and refine the standard procedures for creating new services and libraries at Sentry.
• Contribute to the tooling and release processes for SDKs and other libraries.
• Create metrics, dashboards, and systems to detect flaky tests, providing visibility into deployment health.
• Build tools that provide context for engineers and AI coding agents within Sentry's systems.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to identify and address infrastructure and developer experience needs.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience in software engineering or a similar technical role.
• Experience guiding complex projects through their entire development cycle.
• Strong knowledge of Python.
• Practical experience with Docker and managing container orchestration in production environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD systems and how to optimize them for speed and reliability at scale.
• A history of creating or significantly improving developer tools or infrastructure.
• Ability to influence engineering teams without direct authority, fostering adoption of new standards or processes.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
