Sentry helps developers resolve software issues before they impact users. The Infrastructure Engineering team ensures Sentry's operations are straightforward and secure for all engineering teams. This role involves leading a team that builds the core internal platforms, configuration systems, and traffic routing that enable product engineers to operate services at scale.

What you'll do
- Guide a team of engineers developing internal control platforms essential for safe service operation across Sentry.
- Advance the Infrastructure Engineering platform, including configuration management, traffic routing, and environment controls.
- Define the team's technical direction, influencing API architecture, internal tool design, and automation frameworks.
- Support engineers' growth through coaching, mentorship, and career development.
- Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive team culture focused on ownership, learning, and delivery.
- Collaborate with Production Engineering, SRE, and Developer Infrastructure to maintain consistent operational tooling.
- Oversee the reliability, adoption, and roadmap of team tools, promoting technical excellence and practical decision-making.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of software engineering experience, particularly in internal tooling, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, or distributed systems.
- 4 or more years of engineering management experience, including team growth and management.
- Background as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager guiding the architecture and long-term development of internal control platforms or similar systems.
- Strong backend or full-stack engineering skills, with proficiency in Python.
- Experience delivering and owning multi-year engineering initiatives in a leadership or technical leadership capacity.
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries and align priorities among infrastructure, platform, and product teams.
