About the role
The owns the strategic partnership with the company's most critical enterprise customers, ensuring their long-term success and expansion within the Semgrep platform. This role serves as the primary liaison between the customer and the internal product, engineering, and support organizations, translating technical feedback into actionable product insights. The hire is responsible for driving platform adoption, reducing churn risk, and championing customer needs across all Semgrep initiatives. They will leverage deep security and developer workflow knowledge to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders. The TAM will translate complex platform capabilities into clear business value for executive and technical audiences alike. They are expected to evolve best-in-class playbooks that reinforce Semgrep's position as a leader in code security for builders. This role directly impacts product direction and customer retention by closing the loop between implementation and innovation.
Key facts
What you'll do
Host monthly check-ins with customers to understand their successes and challenges.
Speak with technical stakeholders within our customer base and internally within Semgrep to align on priorities.
Create personalized success plans for customers to ensure they grow the value of using our platform over time.
Partner with Sales to host executive business reviews with both practitioners and executive buyers.
Collaborate with Tech Support to resolve bug tickets and work closely with Product to submit and track feature requests.
Advocate on behalf of your customers for product roadmap items to evolve our product suite and capabilities.
De-escalate urgent issues that may introduce churn risk by coordinating rapid responses across internal teams.
Evolve internal best practices and playbooks to deliver exceptional service and consistent outcomes for customers.
Contribute to documentation that widens the available information on how to use Semgrep products effectively.
Leverage deep expertise in developer workflows and build systems to advise customers on optimal implementation strategies.
Educate customers on Web Application Security concepts, including OWASP Top 10 and how Semgrep addresses them.
Support the integration of Semgrep into CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Circle CI, Jenkins, and Buildkite.
Identify opportunities for expansion within existing accounts by uncovering new use cases and stakeholder needs.
Represent the voice of the customer across Semgrep organizations to influence product decisions and enhancements.
Requirements
5+ years of experience working in a customer facing role with a proven track record of managing complex accounts.
Prior experience as a Technical Account Manager, Account Manager, or Product Manager for a highly technical product is strongly preferred.
A deep understanding of developer workflows and build systems, including CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Circle CI, Jenkins, and Buildkite.
Familiarity with SCM environments such as Git, SVN, and Perforce is essential for navigating customer implementation challenges.
Strategic thinker with deep customer empathy and the ability to create and execute multi-year account growth plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
Strong problem-solving orientation and the ability to de-escalate high-pressure situations while maintaining trust.
Demonstrated experience working with security, AppSec, or DevSecOps concepts, including familiarity with OWASP Top 10.
Engineering or technical degree from a four-year college or university is required to understand the technical depth of the platform.
A background or genuine interest in DevSecOps or Application Security is necessary to align with Semgrep's mission.
Ability to travel to customer sites and Semgrep office locations within driving distance of New York as needed.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic tech environment where priorities evolve quickly.

Genuine interest in building security into the software development lifecycle at scale.
Experience contributing to open source or technical documentation in a professional capacity.
Practical notes
This role is based in the New York Office and requires proximity to the location for in-person collaboration.
Full-time engagement with standard working hours is expected.
Travel may be required within the driving distance region to meet with customers and attend company events.
