Sekcap is seeking a dedicated and versatile Center Floater for our 0-5 Options program located in Pittsburg, Kansas. What you'll do

• Provide support to lead teachers in various classrooms, ensuring that each child receives individualized attention and care.
• Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development for children aged 0-5.
• Foster a safe and welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff, encouraging positive interactions and open communication.
• Monitor and document children's progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment across all classrooms.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
• Support the daily operations of the center, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of classrooms and play areas.
• Engage with parents and families, providing updates on their child's progress and encouraging their involvement in the educational process.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of materials and resources needed for classroom activities.
• Be flexible and adaptable, ready to step into various roles as needed, whether that be in a classroom, during outdoor play, or in administrative tasks.
• Promote and adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for all children and staff.
• Help create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that respects diversity and encourages all children to thrive.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working with young children, preferably in a daycare or preschool setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to childcare settings.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• A positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with young children.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a floater or in a similar role within an early childhood education setting.
• Familiarity with various educational curricula and assessment tools for young children.
• Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, to better communicate with diverse families.
• Knowledge of local community resources and services for families with young children.
• Experience in implementing inclusive practices for children with special needs.
