About the role
Seesaw is seeking a technical leader to guide our security strategy while remaining deeply involved in hands-on software development. This position is designed for an experienced engineer who has transitioned into security and prefers building solutions over purely administrative or governance-focused work.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define the security roadmap and serve as the primary internal resource for risk management.
- Conduct threat modeling, secure code reviews, and architecture assessments.
- Develop and maintain security automation, infrastructure as code, and security tooling.
- Implement controls across application, API, and infrastructure layers.
- Manage vulnerability scanning, patching, and incident response efforts.
- Enhance cloud security, including IAM, networking, secrets management, and monitoring.
- Integrate security gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with Legal to establish security policies and support compliance initiatives like SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven background in application security, including threat modeling and SDLC integration.
- Expertise in securing cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with a focus on IAM and networking.
- Ability to balance high-level strategic planning with tactical, hands-on technical execution.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex security requirements into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with compliance frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Proficiency with security tools including SAST, DAST, SCA, SIEM, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Background in building security programs within high-growth or startup environments.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, or OSCP.
