Senior Developer Advocate

About the role

Sanity is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to represent our brand within developer communities. You will be responsible for cultivating developer engagement with Sanity through strategic programs and authentic relationship building. Your primary contribution will be fostering trust and credibility among developers.

What you'll do

• Create and distribute technical content such as blog posts, case studies, and demonstrations focused on AI for developers.
• Develop internal AI-driven workflows and tools, including skills and plugins, to enhance team productivity.
• Actively participate in and manage Sanity's presence across online developer platforms like Discord, X, GitHub, and Reddit, as well as at industry conferences and local meetups.
• Travel approximately 20-30% of the time to attend and speak at conferences, meetups, and community events.

Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of experience in developer relations or developer community management at a developer tools company, or a minimum of 2 years in an AI Engineering role.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to build and showcase technical projects, including writing code and delivering compelling demos.
• Articulate practical insights on AI-assisted development, drawing from personal experience with AI coding tools.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of web development trends and the impact of AI on the current web development landscape.
• Understand community dynamics and have a proven history of building or nurturing healthy developer communities.
• Be a confident public speaker, comfortable presenting on stage, leading workshops, and engaging in informal discussions at events.
• Possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives concurrently and interpersonal skills to foster positive contributor relationships.
• Have a clear perspective on impactful developer communities and events.

Nice to have

• Prior experience leading a community program, beyond just participation.
• An established presence within developer communities relevant to Sanity, such as JavaScript, Next.js, content tooling, or AI development tools.
• A history of empowering developers and sharing your technical creations.
• Experience with headless CMS, content platforms, or AI development tools.
