About the role
This role is for a builder who can help product and engineering teams make better decisions using customer and product data. You will transform unclear questions into concrete analyses, repeatable processes, and internal tools for the product and engineering departments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create and deploy internal data and AI solutions to help product and engineering teams understand product usage, customer challenges, and key areas for improvement.
- Examine large datasets, both structured and unstructured, including product telemetry, support requests, customer feedback, feature requests, surveys, and product details to identify trends.
- Convert one-off analyses into dependable, repeatable tools and workflows with defined data standards, quality checks, documentation, and feedback mechanisms.
- Present complex findings as clear, actionable recommendations, ensuring the underlying evidence and methods are preserved.
- Manage projects from start to finish, including defining the problem, gathering necessary data, building the initial version, launching, measuring performance, and ongoing refinement.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools responsibly, verifying outputs, troubleshooting issues, and applying sound judgment.
- Promote and embody Samsara's core values as the company expands globally and into new offices.
Requirements
- 1 to 5 years of professional experience in roles like product operations, data or product analytics, business operations, consulting, or technical product management, where you solved complex problems using data and technology.
- Proven ability to build and deliver a useful product, such as an internal tool, application, dashboard, automation, data product, or a standardized analytical process.
- Experience in structuring and analyzing large or complex datasets, validating findings, and clearly explaining the scope and limitations of the analysis.
- Strong understanding of product and customer needs, prioritizing user problems and business outcomes over technology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical or analytical work to non-technical audiences while retaining essential details.
- High degree of ownership, curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to learn quickly, ask insightful questions, form opinions, and navigate ambiguity.

- Experience in a B2B technology company or close collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Background in Product Operations, including defining and tracking product roadmaps, managing feature requests, and incorporating customer feedback into product development.

Practical notes
- Salary range: $106,802.50 - $179,500 USD annually.
- Eligible for an initial Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities based on performance.
