Manager, Inside Sales
About the role
Samsara is seeking a dynamic leader to guide our French mid-market inside sales team. This role is crucial for driving growth in one of Europe's most significant IoT markets. You will be responsible for developing a high-performing team that consistently exceeds targets.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the performance and professional growth of a team of Account Executives in France, ensuring they meet pipeline goals, activity benchmarks, and maintain accurate forecasts through regular performance reviews.
- Provide tailored coaching to each team member, assisting them with territory planning, effective discovery calls, and navigating complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
- Establish and maintain a reliable outbound pipeline generation system for the team by setting individual targets, conducting weekly pipeline reviews, and identifying potential issues before they impact quarterly results.
- Participate in key deals alongside your team members, offering guidance and stepping in to close when necessary, while rigorously assessing deal qualification and progression.
- Collaborate with Sales Directors, Sales Engineering, Account Development Representative leadership, and Marketing to align on territory strategies, resource allocation, and cross-functional execution, translating company objectives into team actions.
- Actively recruit and onboard new talent, sourcing candidates from your network, conducting thorough evaluations, and building a strong pipeline of future team members.
- Contribute to the expansion of Samsara's business across mainland Europe by sharing successful strategies, supporting broader commercial efforts, and building the operational framework for team growth.
- Embody and promote Samsara's core values, including a focus on customer success, long-term vision, a growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork.
- Build and lead an inclusive, motivated, and high-achieving team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a frontline sales management role within a B2B technology or SaaS company, leading a team of at least five Account Executives using a direct, outbound sales approach.
- At least 5 years of prior experience as an individual contributor in a quota-carrying, outbound sales role, demonstrating a proven ability to build sales pipelines from the ground up.
- Proficient in qualifying complex deals involving multiple stakeholders and coaching reps on structured sales frameworks like MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
- Demonstrated success in proactive performance management, including implementing structured coaching plans, conducting challenging performance discussions, and making decisive actions when necessary.
- Must reside in Paris, France, and be able to travel within the region for meetings with prospects, clients, and the Samsara EMEA team.
- Native French language fluency is required.
Nice to have
- A leadership approach that prioritizes individual coaching, adapting development strategies to each team member's unique needs and potential.
- Familiarity with industries such as transportation, logistics, field services, construction, or manufacturing, or a strong interest in these sectors.
- A drive to succeed in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, motivated by building impactful initiatives and achieving measurable results.
- Experience in developing outbound sales pipelines in markets where inbound lead volume or brand recognition was not a primary driver.
- The ability to quickly translate strategic directives into actionable plans that influence team behavior.
