Head of GTM AI and Engineering

About the role

Samsara seeks a leader to guide the technical direction of our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy through an AI-centric approach. This role involves building, automating, and managing the systems that support our entire GTM operations. You will oversee a team focused on creating advanced AI products and automated workflows.

What you'll do

• Build and develop a high-performing team of AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Product Managers.
• Establish a 3-year vision and technical plan for AI integration across GTM systems, balancing automation with human oversight.
• Design and implement production-ready AI models, demand prediction systems, and automated data pipelines for CRM and product telemetry.
• Define and enforce quality standards for AI-generated insights and model outputs, ensuring executive trust in the data.
• Collaborate with executive leaders in Engineering, Product, and RevOps to deploy scalable data models, metrics, and self-service tools.
• Champion Samsara's core cultural principles within the team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering, data science, or revenue technology, including at least 5 years managing other managers in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in modern AI architectures, Large Language Model (LLM) orchestration, complex data modeling, and production SQL/BigQuery.
• Proven experience designing and implementing AI-powered workflows or large-scale data pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical executives.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with usage-based revenue models tied to product telemetry.
• Previous engineering leadership at a high-growth Product-Led Growth (PLG) SaaS company.
• Familiarity with core GTM systems such as Salesforce, Snowflake/BigQuery, and BI tools like Looker or Tableau.

Practical notes

• Annual Base Salary: $196,000 - $350,000 USD.
• Eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities.
• Total rewards include base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity.
