Principal Business Technology Product Manager at Samsara
About the role
This role focuses on enhancing the internal tools that support Samsara's sales operations. You will be responsible for the entire seller journey, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the deal process to boost seller speed, accuracy, and confidence. This is a hands-on position where you will actively build and refine solutions.

What you'll do
- Develop and manage the product plan for sales quoting, approval workflows, and opportunity management within Salesforce and CPQ, transforming business challenges into measurable product outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Deal Desk, and Finance to pinpoint high-impact issues, establish success metrics, and prioritize product development.
- Create functional prototypes, develop data models and dashboards, and implement internal tools and AI-driven workflows, working with engineering to ensure scalability.
- Monitor product adoption, track usage and business impact, and continuously improve internal tools and processes with the same diligence as customer-facing products.
- Integrate modern AI tools into your daily workflow for tasks such as requirement generation, analysis, prototyping, and development to increase personal and team efficiency.
- Uphold and promote Samsara's core cultural principles across global teams and new office locations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years in product management or a comparable background in developing and overseeing enterprise software or internal systems, with a proven history of product delivery.
- Experience with systems related to sales or revenue operations, such as Salesforce (CRM), CPQ, or similar tools.
- A demonstrated capacity to translate business needs into clear product specifications and quantifiable results.
- Proficiency and enthusiasm for using modern AI tools for hands-on prototyping and development.
- Skill in managing relationships with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, and Engineering.
Nice to have
- The ability to independently create tangible outputs like interactive prototypes, SQL-powered dashboards, or proof-of-concept applications without relying on a development queue.
- Experience in developing or managing AI agents or assistants in a live environment, including tracking adoption, evaluating performance, and iterating.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce and CPQ functionalities, including quote-to-cash processes, approvals, and opportunity management.
- Familiarity with automation platforms like Workato and practical data skills, including SQL.
- A track record of successfully driving adoption of internal tools.

Practical notes
- Salary range: $131,197.50 - $176,400 USD annually.
- This role is eligible for Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) with no vesting cliff and subsequent refresh grants based on performance.
- The position is open to candidates residing in the US and Canada, excluding Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C.
