Senior Software Engineer

About the role

SageSure is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Policy Onboarding and Home Services team. You will manage backend systems that handle the customer lifecycle after a policy is purchased, including onboarding, inspections, and underwriting reviews.

What you'll do

• Build new API features in collaboration with product managers to improve customer experiences.
• Design Java-based services that connect the platform to external integration partners.
• Lead architectural decisions to maintain system security, reliability, and scale.
• Manage features from initial design through implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Create technical documentation, API specifications, and architectural proposals.
• Write testing suites and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Mentor team members through pair programming and code reviews.
• Connect internal underwriting systems with third-party contractor and service provider networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software application development and deployment.
• Proficiency in Java and modern backend development tooling.
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable APIs and integration solutions.
• Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working in Fintech or Insurtech sectors.
• Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration.
