AI Governance Analyst

In this position, you will serve as an expert in AI governance, focusing on risk management, compliance monitoring, and incident response. Your role will involve managing processes and guiding junior team members while working with a high degree of independence.

What you'll do

• Assist in the execution and enhancement of the AI governance lifecycle, ensuring effective identification, evaluation, approval, monitoring, and retirement of AI applications.
• Track changes in global AI regulations and industry standards, assess their implications for compliance, and suggest necessary process adjustments.
• Conduct compliance monitoring and testing for AI governance controls to evaluate their design and effectiveness.
• Oversee documentation requirements, including model cards, impact assessments, risk assessments, and testing evidence.
• Coordinate third-party assessments of AI governance related to service provider compliance and control adequacy.

AI Incident Response & Operational Readiness

• Support the entire AI Incident Response lifecycle, including detection, analysis, containment, and closure.
• Facilitate technical investigations such as model behavior analysis and dataset lineage review.
• Update AI incident response playbooks and communication protocols.
• Collaborate with teams in Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, Data Governance, and Safety for coordinated incident response.

Reporting, Metrics & Cross Functional Influence

• Create and present key performance indicators for AI governance and incident response to leadership.
• Prepare communications for executives regarding incidents, risks, findings, and recommended actions.
• Influence various stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of AI governance requirements.

Program Development & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the development of AI governance policies and operational processes.
• Lead reviews for lower-severity AI incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor emerging AI risks and recommend improvements to governance programs.

Travel Requirements: Up to 25%

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in AI governance, AI/ML systems, incident response, risk management, compliance, or cybersecurity.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience understanding AI risks, control frameworks, and governance processes.
• At least 3 years of experience leading technical investigations or governance processes with minimal oversight.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• 3 years of experience in risk advisory, compliance, cybersecurity, governance, or audit roles.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as Aerospace or Defense.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks like NIST AI RMF or ISO 42001.
• Experience in policy development and control testing.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or similar.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills to manage complex issues at an enterprise level.

Work Location: Remote

This position is classified as remote, meaning you will primarily work from home. If you reside near an RTX site, your manager may discuss the possibility of some onsite presence.

Candidates may be required to attend certain interview stages in person at an RTX office, regardless of the remote designation of the role.

The salary range for this position is between $107,500 and $204,500. This range represents a good faith estimate for various experience levels. Factors such as role responsibilities, candidate experience, location, and education will be considered when making an offer.

Successful candidates may receive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, and paid time off. Specific benefits will vary based on the business unit and whether the position is part of a collective bargaining agreement.

Annual incentive compensation programs may be available depending on the position level and collective bargaining agreement status. These payments are not guaranteed and depend on various performance factors.

This role is based in the U.S. If the successful candidate is located in a U.S. territory, the relevant pay structure and benefits will apply.
