In the position of Senior Global Supply Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing sourcing strategies and cultivating supplier partnerships, which are vital for the success of our rocket and satellite projects.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with project goals, focusing on cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, managing the entire procurement process from initial inquiries to contract execution.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, including pricing, quality assurance, and delivery timelines.
• Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance by utilizing metrics, scorecards, and regular evaluations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that supplier capabilities align with project requirements, from early prototypes to full-scale production.
• Identify and assess potential risks within the supply chain, devising strategies to bolster resilience and reliability.
• Partner with the Legal/Contracts team to establish appropriate contractual frameworks that support program and commodity strategies.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to reduce expenses, while keeping cost models and should-cost analyses updated to maintain competitiveness.
• Conduct market analysis and stay abreast of industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.
• Act as the primary procurement authority, tackling challenges and achieving results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier management is required.
• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (totaling 12+ years of work experience) is necessary.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to specific program mandates.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or other innovative manufacturing industries is preferred.
• A background in a rapidly evolving environment with shifting priorities or deliverables is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand design principles for manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for collaborating across various functions and levels of the organization.
• Highly motivated, quick to adapt, and dedicated to upholding high standards of quality and integrity.
• Team-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks, and thriving in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
• APICS certification is a bonus.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards and export control regulations is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time is expected.

• Proficient in procurement software and tools.
• Strong analytical capabilities for making data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices is essential.

Practical notes

This role may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working on a computer, along with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production settings.

Base Pay Range (CA Only)

$110,000 - $145,000 USD
