Senior Software Engineer, Data Lake

About the role

The Data Lake Ingestion team manages the infrastructure that moves operational data into our central lake to support analytics and regulatory requirements. You will design and scale high-throughput pipelines while mentoring team members to maintain high engineering standards.

What you'll do

• Architect and scale systems for CDC, snapshot, and streaming data ingestion.
• Enhance pipeline performance, data quality, and monitoring to minimize replication lag.
• Build self-service tools for partner teams to register schemas and databases.
• Coordinate with platform and consumer teams to determine ingestion patterns based on compliance and latency needs.
• Develop workflows for PII handling, access control, and data retention.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience in backend platforms or distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Technical knowledge of relational databases and CDC mechanisms.
• Experience operating large-scale streaming systems using Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
• Familiarity with AWS S3, Kubernetes, and schema governance.

Practical notes

Base pay for Bellevue, WA is $196,000 to $230,000 USD. Total compensation includes bonus opportunities, equity, and 401(k) matching.
