About the role
Rippling is on a mission to eliminate the administrative burdens that come with running a business. Central to this mission is our focus on automation, allowing organizations to streamline complex workflows across various departments. We are seeking a Product Lead to advance Workflow Studio, our workflow automation solution, into a next-generation platform that integrates with all Rippling products.
In this influential position, you will shape the vision and strategy for how our customers create, implement, and enhance intelligent workflows across Rippling, impacting areas such as onboarding, IT provisioning, payroll, compliance, and financial automation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- You will oversee Workflow Studio, Rippling's automation engine that enables customers to create multi-step workflows across Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, IT, Finance, and third-party applications.
- You will ensure the reliability and quality of the existing platform while driving its evolution towards AI-powered automation.
- You will define the functionality of triggers, conditional logic, approvals, and escalations across Rippling's product suite, creating foundational elements that benefit all product teams.
- You will collaborate closely with engineering to understand event-driven architectures and pipeline infrastructure, while also guiding the integration of large language models into workflow automation.
- You will work across product, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to promote the adoption of workflows and ensure their successful launch, sales, and support.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing a public-facing platform or infrastructure product, such as PaaS, automation, integration, or workflow orchestration.
- Responsible for revenue generation from a platform or infrastructure product, with a clear understanding of how platform capabilities influence pricing, packaging, and growth.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in infrastructure management, capable of navigating event-driven architectures and pipeline systems, with insights on how AI impacts workflow automation.
- Strong opinions on the future of workflow automation, expressed openly.
- Alignment with Rippling's leadership principles, especially 'Push the limits of possible', 'Are right, a lot', 'Challenge each other directly', and 'Change their minds'.
Nice to have
- Experience with workflow or automation platforms (such as Zapier, n8n, Temporal, Airflow, or similar), managing a transition from a V1 to V2 platform, or launching AI-driven features in a production environment.
Skills & tools
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, pipeline systems, and AI applications in workflow automation.

This position offers a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. The compensation for US-based employees will align with the following range based on location:
174,000 - 304,500 USD per year (US Tier 1).
Compensation may vary based on factors such as professional experience, background, and location.
