UX Designer II - Teamfight Tactics at Riot Games.
About the role
This contract position focuses on shaping the player experience for Teamfight Tactics on both PC and mobile platforms. You will manage feature-level design from initial concept through final implementation, balancing technical requirements with player needs.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create wireframes, interaction models, prototypes, and UX flows for in-game and around-game features.
- Manage end-to-end design for specific feature areas, moving from ambiguous goals to concrete player experiences.
- Define UX problems by analyzing usability risks, player requirements, and edge cases.
- Convert game design goals and product requirements into intuitive interfaces.
- Produce design briefs, behavioral specifications, and annotations to guide team execution.
- Coordinate with engineers, producers, visual designers, and QA to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Verify implemented features in-engine to address interaction issues and maintain design integrity.
- Utilize research data and player feedback to iterate on designs and prioritize future tasks.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in interaction, product, or UX design for digital products.
- Proven track record of shipping game features or consumer-facing digital experiences.
- A portfolio showcasing systems thinking, information architecture, and core UX fundamentals.
- Ability to manage medium-sized design projects independently from discovery to final delivery.
- Experience designing interfaces for both mobile and PC environments.
- Proficiency with Figma for design and prototyping.
- Strong ability to document work and communicate effectively within a cross-functional production pipeline.
Nice to have
- Background in live-service game design.
- Familiarity with the Teamfight Tactics or League of Legends ecosystems.
- Experience with progression systems, social features, store interfaces, or cosmetic systems.
- Ability to utilize qualitative insights and live product data to improve designs.
- Experience building or contributing to design systems and reusable interaction patterns.
- Knowledge of data-driven UI systems or implementation constraints in game engines.
- Experience working directly within commercial game engines.
