About the role
This position involves developing and deploying machine learning solutions to improve healthcare for seniors. You will build predictive models and AI-powered tools that enhance clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create end-to-end machine learning systems, from problem definition to model deployment and ongoing monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical teams to integrate data science into core business processes like claims processing and risk adjustment.
- Develop features for autonomous chart review, disease identification, and compliance forecasting.
- Build natural language processing and large language models for document analysis, including optical character recognition and named entity recognition.
- Improve payment accuracy and compliance by developing models and automated quality assurance processes to reduce review times and identify audit risks.
- Champion best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, reusable components, and clear documentation.
- Manage the full lifecycle of deployed models, including performance monitoring and anomaly detection.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience building and deploying production-grade data science or machine learning software with measurable impact.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, and API design.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience creating reusable code packages and command-line tools.
- Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, including tree ensembles, boosting, NLP/LLMs, and deep learning, as well as experimental design.
- Experience working with large, high-velocity, and complex datasets, with strong data manipulation skills.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Excellent data visualization and communication skills to present findings effectively.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced work environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
Nice to have
- Experience in the healthcare domain, particularly with CMS or Medicare Advantage operations.
- Experience with document understanding systems, including OCR, NER, and LLM pipelines.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and performance optimization techniques.
- Contributions to internal frameworks or open-source projects; published research.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
