About the role
This role involves building and improving the systems that manage promotions and pricing for customer purchases. You will create high-performance backend services to ensure pricing is accurate and applied promptly. The position requires designing and implementing microservices within an event-driven framework.

What you'll do
Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot for pricing and promotion logic.
Implement and manage asynchronous data flows with Apache Kafka to handle high volumes of promotion processing.
Deploy and manage services on Kubernetes, focusing on scalability and reliability.
Build and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
Optimize services for speed and efficiency, including database and caching strategies.
Implement monitoring and alerting systems using GCP Logging, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Requirements
6-10 years of experience in backend software development, ideally in e-commerce, retail, or pricing systems.
Strong command of Java 11 and Spring Boot.
Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, and schema registry.
Proven experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
Knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Azure.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and GCP Logging.
Nice to have
Experience with caching technologies.
Understanding of distributed tracing and log correlation.
