Key facts
What you'll do
- Examine large-scale real-world data to uncover trends relevant to clinical and business objectives, such as treatment pathways and cost management.
- Identify significant clinical events, including cancer progression and therapeutic interventions, by analyzing CPT, NDC, ICD codes, and unstructured text from databases.
- Perform statistical analyses and survival modeling on clinical events identified from real-world data.
- Translate data findings into clear visualizations and compelling narratives.
- Assist other data scientists in the creation of digital pathology artificial intelligence models.
- Collaborate closely with bioinformaticians, statisticians, and medical professionals on research publications.
Requirements
- A PhD in Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant postgraduate experience.
- Experience working with real-world data, specifically insurance claims and electronic health records.
- Expertise in SQL and R (or comparable tools).
- Strong capabilities in data cleaning, manipulation, and visualization using the tidyverse and ggplot in R (or similar).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, particularly survival modeling and hypothesis testing (e.g., multivariate regression with interaction effects).
- Experience with cloud computing environments, with AWS being preferred.
- Proven ability to summarize and communicate data-driven findings with precision and clarity.
- Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Foundational knowledge of oncology, genomics, and cancer biology.
- Prior research experience in urological oncology, immunotherapy, digital pathology, or related areas.
- Experience developing AI models, including LLMs or time-series models.
