What you'll do

Assist in developing and maintaining server-side code, databases, and APIs.

Write clear, well-documented, and efficient code following established standards.

Participate in code reviews, offering and receiving feedback for improvement.

Help identify and resolve technical issues within backend systems.

Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver integrated software.

Actively learn new technologies, frameworks, and development practices.

Contribute to the documentation of backend processes and system architecture.

Requirements

A foundational understanding of at least one backend programming language such as Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby, Go, or C#.

Basic knowledge of relational databases and database design principles, including SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.

Understanding of fundamental web concepts like HTTP and RESTful APIs.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities suitable for a remote team.

Nice to have

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience or bootcamp completion.

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, gained through projects or coursework.

Exposure to backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, Express.js, Spring Boot, or Ruby on Rails.

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.

Personal coding projects that showcase backend development skills.
