Relativity Space is seeking a Supervisor for its Quick Turn Machine Shop. This role focuses on leading daily operations for prototype and urgent machining needs for launch vehicles and propulsion systems. You will guide a team of machinists, ensuring high quality and safety standards while meeting tight production deadlines.

What you'll do

• Oversee the daily activities of quick-turn, prototype, and urgent machining operations for development programs related to launch vehicles and propulsion systems.
• Manage, train, and develop a team of machinists, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while adhering to ambitious build schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to deliver essential hardware, reduce supplier risks, keep development initiatives on schedule, and provide fixturing for production hardware.
• Contribute to developing and implementing strategies to optimize the department for fast lead times.

Requirements

• 7 or more years of hands-on machining experience, including CNC mill/turn, multi-axis, and tight-tolerance aerospace work.
• 2 or more years in a supervisory or lead position.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and expand teams in rapid prototyping environments.
• Comfortable balancing urgency, quality, and safety while establishing structure in a new department.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach for working with design, quality, and supply chain teams.
• A hands-on leader with a strong sense of ownership, ready to address issues in real time.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting rapid hardware development in a demanding environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools.
• Experience in developing and implementing key performance indicators.
