Quality Specialist II, Weekend Shift

About the role

You will perform critical inspections on Terran R hardware during weekend operations to ensure our rockets meet strict aerospace standards. This role requires a hands-on approach to quality control, documentation, and process improvement within our production facility.

What you'll do

• Conduct in-process, final, and borescope/FOD inspections on propulsion components, large structures, and mechanical assemblies.
• Evaluate hardware against requirements to determine pass/fail status and manage non-conformance documentation.
• Create and execute inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and final stages.
• Support configuration management, drawing standardization, and design for manufacturing efforts.
• Maintain quality infrastructure, including internal audits, calibration management, and traceability data analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing inspection or quality roles.
• Expert proficiency with precision hand tools and metrology equipment, such as bore gages, micrometers, and calipers.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, wire diagrams, work instructions, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Hands-on experience with Material Review Board (MRB) processes, including the disposition of non-conforming parts.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Nice to have

• Certifications including ASQ CQE/CQIA, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or an A&P license.
• Experience inspecting avionics, such as wire harnesses, PCBs, power supplies, electrical connectors, or COPVs.
• Proficiency with ERP, MES, Jira, Teamcenter, and CAD software.
• Proven ability to lead quality improvements or manage projects without formal authority.
