About the role
You will manage infrastructure and facilities projects from initial site assessment through final construction handover. This role requires active coordination with internal partners, vendors, and government stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met on schedule.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee facility projects from early scope development to final closeout.
- Create technical requirements, cost estimates, project drawings, and contractor bid packages.
- Evaluate contractor proposals, submittals, and schedules for project alignment.
- Partner with NASA representatives, EHS, internal teams, and external vendors during execution.
- Perform field observations to document status and address technical issues.
- Manage commissioning, testing, punch-list items, and turnover documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural, or Facilities Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education, military service, and training.
- Practical experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial systems gained through internships, professional work, or military service.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to solve technical challenges.
- Proficiency in gathering technical data, assessing field conditions, and creating solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate construction sites, rooftops, and outdoor industrial environments.
- Must pass a US government background check for site access at Stennis.
Nice to have
- Background in aerospace, industrial operations, or utility infrastructure.
- Familiarity with building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, or building automation systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Jira, or CMMS software.
- Experience with equipment startup, field inspections, and project commissioning.
