Director, Internal Communications

This role leads internal communications, developing strategies and deliverables that keep employees informed and connected to the company's mission. You will help staff understand what is being built, why it matters, and how their work contributes to overall success. The ideal candidate is an adaptable leader with strong instincts and executive presence, able to switch between long-term planning and real-time, high-stakes communications.

What you'll do

• Develop and improve Relativity's internal communications strategy, systems, channels, and governance for effective, scalable communication.
• Create narratives that link technical progress, organizational priorities, and business decisions into clear stories that build alignment and trust across internal audiences.
• Draft and manage executive communications, including All Hands content, leadership updates, organizational announcements, and time-critical messaging.
• Build and maintain a unified editorial calendar for internal channels (Slack, intranet, newsletters, video updates) and coordinate with the external communications team.
• Partner with subject matter experts across engineering, manufacturing, operations, HR, and leadership to find stories that showcase Relativity's innovation, progress, and culture.
• Establish and uphold voice and tone standards across all written internal communications.
• Support change management and transformation initiatives with structured communication protocols that foster clarity, trust, and alignment.
• Work with designers and producers to transform written content into compelling visual, video, and multimedia assets.
• Manage real-time issues, crisis communications, and rapid developments with sound judgment and a risk-aware perspective.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in internal communications or corporate communications, with a focus on internal audiences.
• 5+ years of experience leading and managing internal communications for a complex organization.
• Experience working with executive leadership and advising on critical communications.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement internal communications strategies that drive employee engagement and alignment.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

• Experience in the aerospace, technology, or manufacturing industries.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
