About the role
This position is central to our financial planning, operational analysis, and strategic development. You will play a key role in defining the economic framework of our modular microfactories and tracking cost reductions for our Bill of Materials. Your work will provide critical financial clarity as we expand our operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage and update the company's financial model, rolling forecasts, and annual budget.
- Analyze monthly and quarterly financial performance against budget, identifying key drivers of revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and strategic presentations for leadership and board meetings.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering to model Bill of Materials costs, direct labor rates, and factory overhead.
- Evaluate and refine the business model for individual microfactories, focusing on payback periods, capacity, asset use, and gross margin.
- Develop ROI models for equipment purchases, automation investments, and facility expansions.
- Support department leaders in Engineering, Software, Factory Operations, and Talent with headcount planning and operational spending to align with cash runway.
- Assist in selecting and implementing new finance and accounting tools, including ERP integration and automated reporting.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, or startup financial operations.
- Direct experience or strong familiarity with finance in hardware, manufacturing, robotics, automotive/aerospace, or construction/real estate development.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with a history of building comprehensive 3-statement financial models.
- Ability to translate physical operations data (like BOMs, inventory turns, labor hours, and factory throughput) into clear financial metrics and unit economics.
- Hands-on experience with modern ERP systems, business intelligence tools, and spend management platforms.
- A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced physical technology environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a quantitative field.
- Experience supporting a hardware or manufacturing company through rapid multi-site expansion.
- Background in inventory management, ERP implementation, or supply chain cost reduction initiatives.
