About the role
Reframe Systems is hiring a Junior Design Engineer to rethink how buildings move from concept to production. You will create highly detailed parametric models, develop automated design workflows, and produce manufacturing documentation for modular residential and low-rise multi-family structures built in the company's Andover, MA microfactory.

What you'll do
- Partner with architects to translate design concepts into precise 3D CAD models ready for fabrication
- Define parametric rules and requirements alongside software developers so modeling tasks can be automated
- Produce work instructions and detailed drawings for structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems that meet code requirements
- Shape the modeling strategy as tools and designs evolve, balancing speed, flexibility, standardization, and automation
- Apply design-for-manufacturing principles to reduce part counts, simplify materials, and streamline assembly
- Maintain organized, version-controlled model libraries and documentation in a cloud-based collaborative environment
- Lead quality reviews of models and work instructions, verifying accuracy, completeness, and compliance before release
Requirements
- 2+ years working as a Design Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- Strong proficiency in Onshape or comparable parametric CAD platforms such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or CREO
- Ability to create clean, maintainable 3D models with close attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and comfort collaborating across disciplines
- Adaptability when project scope or requirements shift
Nice to have
- Experience with Revit
- Background in the construction industry
- Familiarity with wood-based construction methods

- Revit (helpful)
