About the role
Reddit is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to spearhead company-wide initiatives focused on enhancing engineering workflows through AI. This role is crucial in partnering with engineering leadership to ensure AI-driven development is secure, measurable, scalable, and effective across the organization. You will guide Reddit through a significant evolution in software development, driven by AI and agentic workflows.

What you'll do
- Guide the development of executable programs for AI-assisted development, covering areas like code review, agent infrastructure, LLM access, evaluation systems, and developer environments.
- Establish the operational framework for AI-native developer productivity, defining adoption paths, risk management, and success measurement.
- Foster company-wide consensus among various engineering and product teams, influencing without direct authority.
- Champion the social and cultural shifts necessary for successful AI-assisted development, building trust and facilitating adoption.
- Create communication and enablement strategies, including forums, documentation, and rollout plans, to guide engineers and leaders through workflow changes.
- Develop measurement systems to quantify real productivity gains, linking workflow improvements to business and engineering outcomes.
- Oversee AI governance and adoption, balancing innovation with security, cost, privacy, and operational safety.
- Apply technical judgment to identify risks, guide trade-offs, and ensure alignment across AI tooling, CI/CD, and development platforms.
Requirements
- A minimum of 14 years of experience in technical program management, engineering, infrastructure, developer tools, platform engineering, AI tooling, or related technical fields.
- Proven experience leading multi-year, multi-organization technical programs with executive visibility and ambiguous ownership.
- Strong understanding of developer productivity systems, including CI/CD, code review, testing, deployment, observability, developer environments, internal platforms, or AI-assisted development.
- Knowledge of AI and LLM-enabled software development, including agent workflows, governance, evaluation, telemetry, code quality, cost control, and operational risk.
- A data-driven approach with the ability to build measurement systems that connect workflow improvements to tangible outcomes.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and create clarity across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading significant organizational change and shifting behavior across teams.
- A results-oriented mindset focused on delivering outcomes rather than just activity.
- Pragmatic and iterative approach to introducing structure and driving adoption.
Nice to have
- Experience leading large-scale developer productivity, platform engineering, infrastructure modernization, or AI tooling programs.
- Familiarity with LLM platforms, AI-assisted development tools, agentic workflows, or AI governance in enterprise engineering.
- Experience developing adoption strategies for internal platforms or developer tools.
- Experience leading cultural transformation or change management programs within engineering organizations.
- Knowledge of engineering productivity frameworks like DORA or SPACE.

Practical notes
- Base salary range: $260,800 - $365,100 USD.
- Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
