You will define the end-to-end design for Presence across Reddit, transforming community identity into robust product foundations that shape how people express themselves online. You own the strategic direction for identity, profiles, communities, and discovery, connecting these elements into a unified narrative. What you'll do

Architect modular interface patterns that establish a shared language for Presence across Reddit products and teams.

Mentor designers to elevate their craft and strengthen systems thinking, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared standards.

Translate ambiguous opportunities into clear, testable interaction flows, validating concepts through rapid prototyping and iterative feedback.

Champion accessibility and robust information architecture, ensuring solutions meet the highest standards of usability and inclusivity.

Orchestrate alignment between product, engineering, research, and content design to maintain consistency and streamline collaboration.

Define coherent experience principles that serve as a foundation for product decisions, guiding trade-offs and prioritization.

Create interactive prototypes with AI-assisted tools to rapidly validate ideas and communicate direction clearly to stakeholders.

Accelerate decision-making by producing high-fidelity prototypes that reduce ambiguity and align stakeholders on shared goals.

Influence the evolution of identity, profiles, community representation, Reddit Pro, and shopping experiences through thoughtful design interventions.

Establish design frameworks that balance long-term vision with execution, enabling teams to move faster with a shared language and understanding.

Build trust with senior leaders by facilitating conversations, articulating trade-offs, and advocating for thoughtful, user-centered design decisions.

Elevate the quality of reusable components, navigation, and discovery patterns, strengthening Reddit as a trusted community platform.

Raise the bar for interaction design and reusable design patterns, ensuring consistency and excellence across all Presence initiatives.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and drive toward impactful design outcomes.

Continuously refine your portfolio and case studies to reflect Staff-level impact, demonstrating craft, product influence, and organizational change.

Requirements

Bring eight to ten years of product design experience in consumer technology, with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional solutions.

Demonstrate strong systems thinking, building platform-level experiences that work consistently across different contexts and teams.

Navigate ambiguity comfortably, balancing strategic vision against immediate delivery needs while maintaining clarity and focus.

Influence senior stakeholders without direct authority, using persuasion, data, and empathy to drive alignment.

Communicate precisely, using storytelling and facilitation to make ideas understandable and compelling to diverse audiences.

Be comfortable using AI-assisted design or coding tools to prototype, explore, and share concepts efficiently and effectively.

Showcase a portfolio that demonstrates Staff-level impact, thoughtful craft, and meaningful product or organizational influence.
