Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer, Ads ML Experience Platform

About the role

Reddit is seeking an experienced engineer to help build the next generation of machine learning development tools. You will contribute to platforms that accelerate the entire ML lifecycle for our advertising products, from experimentation to autonomous operations. This role involves designing and implementing scalable systems that empower ML engineers and researchers.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create large-scale systems for offline ML experimentation, supporting reproducible research and model development.
• Develop frameworks for orchestrating production ML training, including distributed processing and hyperparameter tuning.
• Build infrastructure for tracking experiments, managing metadata, and versioning model artifacts.
• Collaborate with ML professionals to enhance the speed and efficiency of their development processes.
• Design and implement automated workflows for deploying, managing, and evaluating models.
• Construct an agentic AI execution platform for autonomous and human-in-the-loop workflows.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in infrastructure or platform engineering, or in building large-scale distributed systems.
• At least 2 years of direct experience developing and maintaining production ML infrastructure, developer SDKs, platform APIs, or self-service AI tools.
• Proven experience building workflow orchestration systems, developer platforms, or large-scale automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing technologies like Spark, Flink, or Ray.
• Experience with modern orchestration and workflow tools such as Kubeflow, Argo, or Airflow.
• Experience developing offline ML experimentation platforms, model registries, or training orchestration systems.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating agentic AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration and agent communication frameworks.
• Experience managing end-to-end ML model development and iteration cycles at scale.

Practical notes

• Base salary range: $216,700 - $303,400 USD.
• This role is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
