About the role

Join Reddit's Safety ML team to develop and refine advanced safety systems. You will be instrumental in creating and enhancing the next generation of large language models to enforce Reddit's rules at scale. This role involves close collaboration with various safety-focused teams to ensure a secure user experience.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create, refine, and deploy machine learning models, including LLMs, for natural language processing applications.
• Build and manage training workflows, utilizing distributed computing and optimizing for efficiency.
• Work with other departments to understand needs, design model structures, and improve model performance.
• Evaluate model effectiveness, analyze performance, and fine-tune for better accuracy and reduced bias.
• Keep abreast of new research in natural language processing, multimodal data, and large language models.
• Contribute to establishing best practices and ethical guidelines for responsible AI development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, focusing on natural language processing, deep learning, and AI model creation.
• Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Expertise in distributed training systems like Ray Training or PyTorch Distributed, and efficient hardware resource management.
• Solid understanding of data preparation, tokenization, embeddings, and language modeling.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse teams.
