Staff Frontend Engineer, Ads Creative

About the role

You will define the technical strategy for the next generation of advertiser tools at Reddit. This role involves leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives that require collaboration across multiple teams to simplify and improve the campaign creation workflow.

What you'll do

• Lead the technical delivery and strategy for large-scale frontend projects within Ads Manager.
• Establish architecture standards and guide engineering teams toward scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Drive the adoption of shared components and design systems to reduce fragmentation in the monorepo.
• Partner with design and product teams to shape strategy and resolve ambiguous technical problems.
• Use product metrics, experimentation, and instrumentation to guide development and measure impact.
• Mentor senior engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with backend, data, and machine learning teams to build end-to-end experiences.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep proficiency in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated success leading ambiguous, multi-quarter projects that delivered measurable impact.
• Expertise in designing frontend architectures for large codebases or monorepos.
• Experience building shared component patterns and driving design system adoption.
• Strong technical judgment regarding state management, API integration, performance, accessibility, security, and testing.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and build alignment on technical decisions.
• Experience using agentic coding tools such as Cursor, Codex, or Claude.

Nice to have

• Background in building advertising, creative tooling, or campaign management applications.
• Experience designing interfaces for generative AI, recommendation systems, or machine learning.
• Familiarity with media upload, asset management, creative versioning, or image editing workflows.
• Experience modernizing large-scale frontend codebases while maintaining high delivery velocity.
