About the role
Join Reddit's Ads Creative & Recommendations team to build the next generation of advertiser tools. You will shape technical direction and create intuitive workflows that help advertisers succeed on the platform.

What you'll do
- Drive the technical strategy and execution for significant, multi-quarter frontend projects within Ads Manager.
- Establish frontend architecture guidelines and promote scalable solutions across various products and codebases.
- Create reusable components and patterns, encouraging the adoption of design systems to reduce inconsistencies within a large monorepo.
- Champion high standards for frontend quality, focusing on both user experience and underlying systems.
- Collaborate with product and design teams from the initial concept phase to define strategy and translate complex needs into user-friendly interfaces.
- Build consensus and influence technical decisions across different teams and departments.
- Define metrics for success, implement tracking, and use data from experiments and product usage to inform development priorities.
- Mentor other senior engineers through technical guidance, design critiques, and constructive feedback.
- Work closely with backend, data, and machine learning engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end features.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years in software engineering, with extensive experience in building production web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- A proven history of leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives that span multiple teams and have resulted in tangible product or engineering improvements.
- Expertise in designing scalable frontend architectures for large codebases or monorepos.
- Experience in developing shared component libraries, contributing to design systems, and driving their adoption across engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, API integration, testing methodologies, performance optimization, accessibility, security, and system reliability.
- Experience partnering with product and design to influence strategy and transform intricate requirements into clear user interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster agreement and influence technical direction across diverse teams.
- Experience using instrumentation, A/B testing, and product metrics to analyze and enhance user experiences.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers, elevating technical standards through design reviews, code critiques, and technical leadership.
- Proficiency in using AI coding assistants like Codex, Cursor, or Claude in daily development tasks.
Nice to have
- Experience developing advertising platforms, campaign management tools, creative software, or similar complex business applications.
- Experience designing user interfaces for generative AI, machine learning, or recommendation systems.
- Familiarity with asset management, media uploads, image editing, creative versioning, or content generation processes.
- Experience modernizing large frontend codebases while maintaining development speed.

Practical notes
- Base salary range: $217,000 - $303,900 USD.
- Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
