Senior Business Engineer

About the role

Join Reddit's Ads Business Engineering team to bridge the gap between technology and business. You will provide technical guidance and build solutions that enable partners and advertisers to connect with Reddit's advertising platform. This role offers significant ownership in driving AdTech integrations and scaling our developer community.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Serve as a primary technical advisor for key advertising partners, guiding their integration with Reddit's ad APIs and tools.
• Develop and test prototype solutions to speed up partner technical adoption and demonstrate value.
• Work directly with partner engineering teams to resolve integration issues and improve performance.
• Manage the onboarding and testing phases for new integrations to ensure successful launches.
• Advocate for partner technical needs internally, influencing product and platform development.
• Address and resolve complex integration challenges for high-priority partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years in software development, with a proven history of managing technical projects from start to finish, including cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Node.js, with a focus on backend or API development.
• Demonstrated experience in contributing to external integrations and creating prototypes within partner environments.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, and common SDK design principles.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical and business concepts to both internal leadership and external clients.

Nice to have

• In-depth knowledge of the AdTech landscape and how Reddit's advertising offerings fit within industry standards.
• Experience improving developer experiences through tools, documentation, or ecosystem contributions.
• A history of influencing product roadmaps and participating in product launches and adoption activities in partnership with sales, product, and engineering.
• Prior experience in the ads industry and with ad partnerships.
