Read AI builds intelligence into meetings, emails, and messages to improve team productivity. We are seeking a senior engineer to join our Integrations team and manage the systems that connect our platform to external tools.

What you'll do

• Architect and develop new third-party integrations, managing the lifecycle from OAuth2 authentication to data synchronization.
• Build and maintain end-to-end integration features that handle both push and pull data flows.
• Create standardized patterns to accelerate the development of future integrations.
• Design structured APIs to support platform services and integration functionality.
• Enhance the reliability and scalability of our event-driven infrastructure, including Kafka, SQS, CDC streaming, and webhook processing.
• Develop monitoring tools and dashboards to track the performance and health of integration systems.
• Provide technical leadership and participate in high-level design decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend or distributed systems.
• Proven experience working with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or SQS.
• Expertise in API design within distributed environments.
• Practical knowledge of third-party integration challenges, including rate limits, webhooks, and OAuth2.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language like Python or Java, with the ability to work primarily in Python.
• Experience maintaining and improving existing production codebases.
• Strong system design capabilities.
