Data Scientist - Fraud Risk

You will contribute to building scalable risk mitigation strategies, focusing on real-time monitoring and machine learning models to detect and prevent fraud. This role involves tackling unique fraud challenges presented by next-generation payment technology.

What you'll do

• Manage key metrics, dashboards, and reports that guide business decisions.
• Design and implement systems for real-time fraud signal monitoring and alert thresholds.
• Create, simulate, and deploy real-time risk controls using both real-time and offline predictive machine learning models.
• Balance risk controls with customer experience, aiming for loss reduction, user friction minimization, and margin improvement.
• Collaborate with go-to-market teams to showcase the technical and business value of risk controls to clients.
• Present complex analytical findings clearly to leadership and non-technical audiences.
• Support partners with fraud concerns related to their traffic.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with automated fraud risk strategies and A/B testing, including the deployment of real-time and offline predictive machine learning models.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain dashboards and fraud risk metrics.
• Capability to resolve ambiguous problems and find effective solutions.
• High degree of autonomy, including prioritizing your workload efficiently.
• A bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.

Nice to have

• Experience within a high-growth fintech or financial services organization.
• Background in customer-facing or go-to-market analytics, or triaging fraud issues.
• Knowledge of identity risk, AML, payments fraud, or compliance analytics.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted data analysis or data science tools.
