Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Foundation at Qualtrics.

About the role

You will drive the R&D strategy for AI and machine learning, focusing on personalizing the user experience across our platform. This role involves building high-performance systems and infrastructure to support enterprise-scale AI solutions while mentoring engineering talent.

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

Engagement: Full-time

Salary: $208,000 to $298,500 USD base annual pay

Hybrid: In-office three days per week (Mondays, Thursdays, and one team-selected day)

Team: Data Intelligence Platform (DIP) team within the Data Intelligence Center of Excellence (DICE)

What you'll do

Architect and build AI frameworks and algorithms for enterprise SaaS applications.
Select and implement AI technologies to optimize performance, scalability, and cost.
Partner with research scientists and model engineers to move systems from research to production.
Provide technical leadership to ML platform teams regarding model deployment, monitoring, and production best practices.
Document technical specifications and design decisions for cross-functional knowledge sharing.
Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
Advise leadership on AI trends and North Star initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar capacity.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
Hands-on experience with AI libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
Experience deploying and managing AI models on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience deploying and optimizing LLMs using frameworks like Transformers-NeuronX, DeepSpeed, Accelerate, or FasterTransformer.
Familiarity with responsible AI practices and ethical considerations in machine learning.

Practical notes

Compensation includes base salary, a sign-on bonus, and restricted stock units. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) with match, and paid time off. Employees receive a $300 quarterly wellness reimbursement and an $1800 yearly experience bonus.
