Senior Cloud Engineer

About the role

Qrypt builds security solutions to protect data against quantum computing threats by removing the need for key transmission. We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to manage our cloud infrastructure and entropy-as-a-service platform. You will oversee our AWS environment and develop the services that distribute quantum keys to our users.

What you'll do

• Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform for networking, security, and deployment pipelines.
• Develop cloud services using Rust, C++, and Python to provide quantum entropy and key delivery.
• Create portable deployment patterns to install our cloud interface within customer environments.
• Implement monitoring and observability systems to maintain service health and identify issues.
• Optimize the cloud platform for security, cost, and reliability as the system grows.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define the cloud roadmap.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure operational readiness for all services.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
• 6+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering with production environment ownership.
• Proficiency in AWS and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Ability to build backend services in Rust or other systems languages like C++, Go, or Python.
• Experience with observability tools and maintaining production service reliability.
• Background in deploying software via containers or Kubernetes into external environments.
• Fluency in AI and agent-assisted development workflows with the ability to verify all output.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. Qrypt does not provide visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Background in cryptography, key management, security, or networking.
• Familiarity with cloud compliance standards such as SOC 2 or FIPS 140-3.
