Founding AI Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

PulseRise Technologies is building a regulated derivatives exchange for GPU compute, operating with the same oversight as a futures exchange. You will serve as a core architect for our compute platform, creating the systems that aggregate and trade GPU capacity. This role involves direct collaboration with the founders to define our technical strategy from the ground up.

What you'll do

• Develop the API that allows customers to provision and oversee GPU clusters across various providers.
• Create an abstraction layer to standardize fragmented GPU resources into a single, unified interface.
• Manage the control-plane architecture for cluster orchestration, state tracking, and lifecycle operations.
• Connect with external GPU providers using Kubernetes, Slurm, bare-metal workflows, and direct API integrations.
• Automate manual brokerage processes by building scalable internal software tools.
• Engineer the metering and billing systems required to track GPU-hour consumption.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Direct experience with low-level GPU infrastructure, including Slurm, Kubernetes, and provisioning workflows, preferably at a neocloud provider like Lambda or CoreWeave.
• Proficiency in production-grade code using Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Ability to work in-person in New York City.
• Commitment to a 9am to 9pm, Monday through Friday work schedule.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-frequency trading environments such as Optiver or SIG.
• Background at large-scale technology firms like AWS, NVIDIA, or Meta.
• Knowledge of order book systems or matching engines used in exchange-grade software.
• Familiarity with usage-based pricing or billing infrastructure.
• History of building developer-facing APIs or multi-tenant platforms.
