What you'll do

Diagnostic imaging procedures are executed across MRI, CT, fluoroscopy and X-ray, with cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT expertise treated as essential. Patients are positioned safely and comfortably so that high-quality diagnostic images can be produced through careful equipment operation and fault reporting. Radiation exposure is minimised for patients and colleagues by strict adherence to safety procedures, while technology knowledge is maintained through continuing professional development. Equipment maintenance, quality control checks and a clean clinical environment are supported, and incidents involving patients, staff or visitors are reported to the Imaging Manager through the incident reporting system. Administrative support for bookings and vetting is provided, and professional, safe, and empathetic communication is maintained with patients and carers throughout the examination journey.

Requirements

A Degree in Diagnostic Imaging and HCPC registration are mandatory entry criteria. MRI and/or CT training, plus strong understanding of clinical governance and imaging protocols, underpins eligibility for this role. Experience within an imaging department, ideally with MRI, and clinical settings such as cardiothoracic, orthopaedic or ENT, is required alongside excellent verbal and written communication skills. A strong patient-focused approach, effective teamwork, accurate administrative skills, independent working capacity, and performance under pressure are essential. Computer literacy, a proactive and compassionate approach, and compliance with CQC standards are required, and candidates must hold the right to work in the UK.
