Data Analytics Engineer at PTR Global.
About the role
PTR Global is hiring a Data Analytics Engineer to build and maintain data systems in a direct client environment. You will manage the full software development lifecycle while collaborating directly with internal stakeholders to support testing, production deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop software and produce all required SDLC documentation.
- Participate in technical reviews with internal client teams.
- Support project testing phases and manage production cutover.
- Provide warranty support for delivered data solutions.
- Communicate technical logic and project decisions to diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in data infrastructure and management.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation using pandas, pyarrow, or pyspark.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and using orchestration tools like Airflow, dbt, or Prefect.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS and Snowflake.
- Familiarity with data lake and warehouse architectures such as S3, Athena, and Delta Lake.
- Expertise in data modeling including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with data quality maintenance, including validation, deduplication, and anomaly detection.
- Proficiency with Git for version control and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX starting day one.

Practical notes
This is a direct client opportunity with no implementation partners involved. Local candidates in Austin are preferred. Full-time consultants are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401K benefits. Final compensation is based on market labor costs, candidate credentials, and role complexity.
