About the role
Proxima Fusion is building the first commercial stellarator power plant, backed by over 650 million Euro and originating from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics. The People Operations Coordinator will own the integrity of people processes and operational infrastructure across our growing footprint. This role is responsible for ensuring consistency and reliability in how we attract, develop, and retain talent. You will serve as the central point of coordination for all employee-related activities spanning multiple cities. The position requires a proactive mindset to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. You will drive efficiency into administrative workflows that touch every colleague in the organization. Success in this role means enabling the business to scale its team without losing operational quality or employee experience. You will be the operational backbone supporting the People and Workplace Experience team.

What you'll do
- Manage daily people operations to ensure consistency across all company locations.
- Oversee administrative tasks related to the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and propose improvements to increase efficiency.
- Utilize internal systems to scale people-related workflows.
- Collaborate with internal departments to execute projects from inception to completion.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and company policies.
- Provide support to employees by answering day-to-day inquiries.
- Coordinate with external payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate service delivery.
- Monitor regional compliance and manage organizational risk.
- Maintain data integrity within HR platforms to support accurate reporting.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to align people initiatives with business goals.
- Implement best practices to streamline HR processes and reduce manual effort.
- Track key metrics related to people operations and present insights for decision-making.
- Support the implementation of new tools designed to automate repetitive administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms, specifically HiBob.
- Experience managing complex projects with a focus on analytical detail.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with high professional standards.
- Empathic approach to human resources and workplace management.
- Strong understanding of employment law and compliance requirements in Germany.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to maintaining data privacy and security protocols at all times.
