About the role
Protolabs is seeking a hands-on leader to manage daily quality control operations at our Rosemount facility. You will guide a team of inspectors, drive process improvements, and ensure all manufactured parts meet strict quality standards.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Supervise daily QC team activities and inspection workflows across shifts.
- Manage staff including hiring, performance evaluations, scheduling, and training.
- Interpret technical drawings and assist the team with GD&T applications.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Design departments to refine inspection processes.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
- Oversee the calibration system and coordinate maintenance for inspection equipment.
- Utilize data to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to lower nonconformance rates.
- Provide direct floor leadership to resolve production issues and maintain a strong quality culture.
Requirements
- Associates or Technical degree in a relevant field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality system environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency with ISO 9001 standards and lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 70 pounds.
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment near machinery and noise.

Practical notes
- Eligibility: Due to ITAR regulations, this position is restricted to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), or individuals with refugee or asylee status. Temporary visa holders (e.g., H-1, F-1, TN, L, etc.) are not eligible.
