About the role
Protolabs is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing team for the second shift. You will be responsible for ensuring our products meet high standards through rigorous inspection processes and accurate documentation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Verify that products align with customer prints, job orders, and documentation, including checking dimensions, surface finishes, material types, and plating.
- Document and store inspection data systematically.
- Generate non-conformance reports for items needing rework or remakes and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Conduct first article inspections as requested by clients.
- Uphold safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace with properly stored tools.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret printed or digital instructions and follow guidance from technical leads.
- Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and basic arithmetic.
- Capability to operate measuring tools like calipers and scales.
- Ability to safely handle sharp instruments such as utility knives and pliers.
- Competence with computers and calculators.
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and reliable attendance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 70 pounds.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working in a CNC machining environment.

- Compensation includes a competitive salary plus a $2.40 shift differential.
