Manager, Mechanical Claims Adjuster

About the role

This position oversees the daily operations of the Mechanical Claims Adjuster team. You will guide a group of adjusters to provide excellent service and timely resolutions to customers, playing a vital role in protecting individuals and families.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Claims Adjusters, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies.
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve claim adjudication and resolution.
• Handle escalated claims and resolve complex issues with both internal and external parties.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to team members.
• Analyze departmental reports to monitor productivity, staffing, and key performance indicators.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors, agents, and colleagues.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and foster a positive team culture.
• Adjudicate mechanical claims directly when necessary.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical claims adjudication or adjustment.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
• Demonstrated ability in management, communication, and writing.
• Proficiency in using parts and labor guides such as Mitchell and Alldata.
• Experience in automotive, powersports, and marine repair or claims.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing demands.
• Typing speed of 40 words per minute or higher.

Nice to have

• Completion of ASE, RV, Marine, or Powersport certifications.
• Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with associates and clients.
• Experience with negotiation and finding mutually agreeable solutions.
