Business Systems Analyst

This position contributes to Protective's mission of providing financial security by ensuring our IT systems effectively support business needs. You will act as a vital link between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating requirements into actionable solutions.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Gather and clarify business requirements, then work with developers to create technical specifications for system enhancements.
• Build strong working relationships with business partners to address system issues and improvement ideas.
• Validate that implemented features meet all defined criteria, which may involve data analysis.
• Participate actively in an agile development process, adhering to sprint schedules.
• Help define project scope and objectives for system-related initiatives, assessing feasibility and estimating effort.
• Assist in managing and updating critical system data and configurations.
• Create user documentation and provide training on new or modified system functions.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or possess equivalent professional experience.
• Have at least 2 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role or a similar function.
• Demonstrate experience in working with business units to understand their needs, analyze impacts, and document changes.
• Possess experience collaborating with internal IT departments to design and implement application solutions aligned with business objectives and IT standards.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with agile development frameworks and the ability to convert intricate problems into user stories.
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience with software platforms including Microsoft Dynamics, Contact Center Technology, Application Extender, CMOD, APIM, HP Exstream, or Microsoft Power BI.
• Understanding of complex data structures and database schemas.
