About the role
This position involves managing a significant volume of customer inquiries related to automotive claims. You will be responsible for initiating new claims, meticulously gathering and reviewing necessary documentation, and confirming that all claim requirements are satisfied. Providing excellent customer support and performing essential administrative tasks are also key aspects of this role.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Respond to incoming calls from customers, identify contract details, and explain coverage terms.
- Communicate necessary follow-up information and provide instructions for submitting claims online.
- Handle customer concerns, including escalated cases and disputes, with professionalism.
- Examine assigned claims, request additional information such as photos or inspections, and authorize claims after verification.
- Ensure all claim processes and communications align with company standards and performance targets.
- Continuously update your knowledge of automotive repair and claims procedures.
- Work independently and take initiative to address claim issues.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three years of experience in handling automotive claims for a warranty provider is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience working as a technician or service advisor at an automotive dealership or repair facility is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and complete tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication abilities, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency in problem-solving using creative and practical methods.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Competence in using computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to multitask and manage interruptions effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
Nice to have
- An automotive technical degree or equivalent combination of technical knowledge and work experience.
- ASE Certification.
- Three years of experience in mechanical inspections.
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute accurately.
- Experience with multi-line phone systems.
Skills & tools
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Specialized claims processing software.
- Calculator and standard office equipment.
