Security Operations Center Analyst

About the role

Join a global financial institution as a SOC Analyst to defend the firm against digital threats. You will collaborate with our internal security team and an external Managed Security Services Provider to manage incident response and refine our defensive posture.

What you'll do

• Analyze and investigate security alerts to identify potential threats.
• Partner with our MSSP to streamline incident response workflows.
• Develop automation scripts to increase the efficiency of security operations.
• Enhance detection logic to better identify malicious activity.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent work history.
• Professional background in IT, security operations, or analytical roles.
• Practical experience investigating security events or using monitoring tools.
• Proficiency in automation or scripting using PowerShell or Python.
• Working knowledge of EDR, SIEM, cloud security, and identity management platforms.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to have

• Background in threat hunting or building proactive detection strategies.
• Skill in tuning or creating detections within tools like Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel, or Splunk.
• Ability to query data using SQL.
• Familiarity with workflow automation or AI-driven security tools.
