Senior Software Engineer, Marketing Engineering

About the role

You will manage the implementation, monitoring, and performance of third-party integrations across our web properties. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing existing systems, including conversion pixels, analytics trackers, and cookie consent banners.

What you'll do

• Implement, inventory, and monitor third-party integrations, pixels, and trackers.
• Ensure uptime and data integrity for all marketing data streams.
• Optimize performance of integrations across various web platforms.
• Collaborate with leadership, legal, and marketing teams to balance compliance with technical performance.
• Work across a diverse stack including JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, JSON, and YAML.
• Maintain and update integrations within AWS, Cloudflare Workers, React, Next.js, WordPress, Zendesk, and Discourse.

Requirements

• Must be based in or near San Francisco and able to work 5 days a week in-office.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js or equivalent frontend frameworks.
• Proven experience implementing third-party APIs, pixels, beacons, and tracking scripts.
• Experience monitoring third-party integrations for uptime and data accuracy.
• Ability to debug complex issues using logs, network traces, and vendor documentation.
• Understanding of how ad-blockers, content-blockers, and browser privacy settings impact data collection.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with GDPR compliance, cookie consent banners, and privacy regulations.
• Ability to build dashboards for tracking and reporting on third-party data.
• Experience using AI tools for testing, research, and coding within legacy environments.
• A/B testing experience using tools like LaunchDarkly.
• Familiarity with Sentry, Transcend, Marketo, Qualified, AWS Lambda, and Cloudflare Workers.
