About the role
Join Polymarket's Data team as a Senior Data Analyst, focusing on Trust and Safety. You will be the analytical backbone for the Trust and Safety team, ensuring the integrity of the US exchange by proactively identifying and addressing fraudulent and AML-related activities. This role involves direct impact on live, real-money markets, transforming how the Trust and Safety team makes decisions.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Investigate suspicious trading activity on the US exchange using SQL queries, from initial detection to resolution.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from the Trust and Safety team with clear, self-contained answers.
- Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards to track fraud and AML signals, ensuring their accuracy and utility.
- Discover patterns in malicious behavior across accounts, trading history, and on-chain data, then translate these into improved detection logic.
- Document investigation outcomes for non-technical stakeholders to facilitate action.
- Collaborate with the Trust and Safety team to prioritize high-risk signals and refine existing alert systems.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, demonstrating success in ambiguous situations.
- Strong SQL proficiency, capable of writing efficient queries against new schemas and debugging independently.
- Direct background in fraud detection, AML investigations, or trust and safety analytics within an exchange, fintech, or similar setting.
- Demonstrated ability to independently scope and complete open-ended investigations, beyond just answering defined questions.
- Experience creating dashboards that serve as primary data sources for operations or compliance teams.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain findings, their significance, and recommended actions to non-SQL users.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with crypto or prediction market data structures, on-chain activity, or exchange trading data.
- Experience in developing or contributing to detection logic or rules engines for fraud or AML.
- Previous work experience directly with compliance, legal, or operations teams in a regulated environment.
